Community Service A – Director FRANCIS ST CLAIR

Goals:

1. Promote and conduct annual Fire Safety Poster contest in the San Angelo public schools.
2. Promote an annual Christmas project to benefit local underprivileged children or families in need.
3. Recruit members for the annual Ringing of the Bell for the Salvation Army at the Sunset Mall.
4. Support the Salvation Army through club and member donations.
5. Assist with the Lights on the Concho celebration in December.

Highway Clean Up – Chairperson STEVE TALLEY

Goals:

1. Clean up club’s highway area (approximately 2 miles of Loop 306) on a quarterly basis.
2. Notify Boy/Girl Scout Committee of scheduled dates to allow scout participation in clean-ups.
3. Notify Interact/Rotaract Committee of scheduled dates to allow Interact/Rotaract participation in clean ups.
4. Hold sign up sessions at club meetings to increase club member participation.
5. Recruit sufficient volunteers to complete each project in a one hour period.

Military Affairs – Chairperson BOB BREWER

Goals:

1. Invite and recognize outstanding military personnel from each unit at Goodfellow Technical Training Center to our club on a monthly basis.
2. Invite and recognize outstanding AFROTC cadets from Angelo State University, Central High School, and Lake View High School on a monthly basis.
3. Extend exceptional hospitality to military guests.
4. Coordinate club participation and community projects with Goodfellow AFB and the two area high schools.

Scouting – Chairperson STEVE SALMON

Goals: 

1. Review the Club’s support of Scouting and present recommendations to the board.
2. Consider new options for the club:
   1. Revitalizing Troop 9.
   2. Adopting a Scout troop seeking a new sponsor and/or home.
   3. Supporting the Learning for Life character development program at each SAISD elementary campus.
   4. Establishing a Venture Crew program.
   5. Sharing the scout hut with one or more Girl Scout troops.
